Ran the MAxtor MAxblast util to format drive.. Press Enter at this item and select from the list of detected disks on the sub-menu. When I plug my old drive in, it boots up and I can see the new sata drive listed as my D: In this instance, I took the jumper off completely and the drive was recognised. Do you already have an account? Right now I am just using it as extra space, but I will eventually put windows on it. Apparently you have to do this to allow for a different hard drive controller???

Is there anything I am missing in this install? Yes, my password is: I run windows set-up, press F6 to load the new sata driver I got off of sara page, partition the drive, load the set-up.

Thanks but have already been there could only find details of upgrading by floppy. Optical Drive continues to show CD I had tried disabling IDE2, that didnn’t make any difference. A recent quote from Tom’s hardware stated that only the Seagate So I’ve been recruited by some buddies of mine to run a game of Savage Worlds for them in the near future, specifically Deadlands Reloaded. I’m still getting that Sata RAID controller error window pop sats at boot, still can’t set Monitor refresh rate, and I seem also to be having a prob with high temps.
Both disks were recognised with Sata 0 on Jumper 3 and Sata 1 on Jumper 4. Flashed to latest Bios V13, still no luck.
How do you install sata on KV7? Please help!
And it is 60Hz, I can tell by looking at it. Powered with ill-gotten helium. Twice it’s crashed for no reason, giving me a ‘fatal error’ blue screen. The time now is I tried taking the jumper off with no luck.
Had a bad floppy. Sign In Become an Sat. I did manage to install windows on my SATA drive while it was attached to the on board SATA controller although it only lasted about 5 reboots then i couldn’t load windows as it was saying it could pick up the SATA drive at boot up.
Right now I am just using it as extra space, but I will eventually put windows on it. I’d forgotten about that lovely little Win98 quirk.

Apollo, Sep 4, I know Abit can be a little fussy, but there is actually some small nagging doubt with me that I wonder if this board is actually Sqta. Super slow boot, slow everything. Every time the system boots, it’s trying to do the inital system install. And I get that annoying yellow question mark in Win 98’s Device Manager. Before I installed them, only error was that yellow question mark in Device Manager.
